Fried Green Happenings in New Orleans

design, guerilla art, music, outdoor art

Hello team! Happy days here in sunny (chilly!) New Orleans. I got to spend some QT with the man before he was whisked off to play with the Temptations this weekend. We hit up the awesome Treme Creole Gumbo Festival and went to check out the scene on Frenchman Street. We happened upon the Frenchman Street Art Market which my buddies at Modern Commissary had mentioned existed. They had a lot to offer in the way of local art of all forms. I have my eye on a spoon ring and some fleur de lis magnets soon. Katherine Erny Gaar, who organized the market, was recently featured in The Gambit’s 40 Under 40 if you want a little more info on her!

And speaking of the 40 Under 40, I am pleased to tell you that I will be doing design and marketing for the fabulous Erin Reho Pelias and her team at ZukaBaby. The shop is a must-peruse for your natural parenting needs either at the storefront on Magazine Street or online. I am really excited to work with this company!
Lastly, I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for interesting street art. I drove by some dudes in the act on an abandoned building today near the Warehouse District, but frankly their work was just really average. I did happen upon a couple kind of interesting Impetus stencils that have me intrigued.

Other than a sub par tumblr I can’t really find any info on this person/people. I’ll be on the lookout for more good pieces.
Off to hit the Adobe for a few freelance projects!
